Short Description: The result of over 30 years of research and collection work, this book provides an overview of the local date postmarks as well as other postmarks used by the Palestinian Authority Postal Service between 1994 and 2024. It is likely to be the first monograph on the postal history of the Palestinian Authority. In addition to the historical background, the book details the origins and development of the Postal Service of the Palestinian Authority, the system of post office numbers and the postcode system. The main focus of the book is the systematisation, description and illustration of over 1,100 postmarks used at approximately 150 Palestinian post offices in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip. All postmarks are illustrated and described. The Arabic inscriptions are transcribed and translated. The appendix includes, amongst other things, a list of post offices and tables containing information on key postage rates during this period.
